What is a GSM cellular phone?
A GSM cellular phone is a type of mobile phone that uses the (Global System for Mobile Communications) to send and receive phone calls. There are dual band, tri-Band & Quad Band GSM cellular phones.
Does a GSM phone require a SIM card?
Yes, the SIM card will not work without it. All of our rental cell phone have a roaming SIM card.

What is a Tri- Band phone?
A Tri-band GSM phone operates on the three internationally designated GSM frequencies- 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. The capability to seamlessly handover between the three bands offers operators major capacity gains.
What is a Quad- Band phone?
A Quad-band GSM phone operates on the four internationally designated GSM frequencies- 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. The capability to seamlessly handover between the four bands offers operators major capacity gains. The 850 frequency is used in North America, Latin America and parts of the Caribbean.
Do you offer world wide GSM roaming?
Our World Phone Rental program offers roaming service in over 170 countries.
What is GSM roaming?
The ability to make and receive calls on the same GSM cellular phone when traveling outside the area of the home network operator.
Do I need to program the phone?
Programming is not required. Your phone will automatically search and register with the local carrier in each country.
Do I need to install the SIM card?
Your SIM card is already installed in your rental cellular phone. The SIM card is activated and ready to go!
Will I need to refill or reload the SIM card with airtime?
No, this is not a prepaid service. You can talk as much as you want.
Do you offer voicemail retrieval service?
Yes, we offer voicemail access.
Can I place and receive calls when I arrive at my travel location?
Yes, you will be able to place and receive calls immediately.
Do you offer roaming sevice in Japan and Korea?
Yes, you will receive a compatible 3G compatible cell phone. These two countries operate on a 3G network. This rental program offers one phone that will work in both countries. The same phone will also work in over 170 countries. There is no need to purchase or rent another phone while traveling to multiple countries.
SIM Card Rental
Is this a prepaid service?
This is not a prepaid service, pay only for the minutes that you use. No need to purchase any airtime top-up vouchers. We will provide you with free itemized billing.
What type of SIM cards do you rent?
We offer local and worldwide SIM cards. The World Travel SIM card is the most popular SIM cards. It works in 186 countries. We will give you access to all the major carriers in each country. This allows you to get the best service and coverage.
What is the service life of the SIM card?
Our rental SIM card does not expire. It will always stay active, as long as you pay your monthly rental fee and minutes that you use.
What is the mobile number?
We can provided you with a U.S. and other international numbers. Roaming rates will vary.
How do I activate the SIM card?
No activation or programming is required. Our rental SIM cards are activated and ready to go!
Do I need to unlock my cell phone?
Yes, you will need an unlocked cell phone to use this service.
How do I unlock my cell phone?
It's simple, just call your local cell phone provider and ask them to give you the unlock code. They are obligated to give you this code.
How will I be billed?
We offer a simple two part billing method. The first bill is the rental charge and any shipping charges. The second part is the itemized bill or call detail. This itemized bill is sent to you after you return the rental cell phone to our office. All of our bills are sent to your email address. We can also fax the bills if your desire. Long term rental are billed once a month.
Do I need to purchase a cell phone or SIM card?
No, we offer a simple and affordable rental solution. Our rates are up to 90% below carrier rates.
Is a deposit required with the order?
An authorization in the amount of $100.00 is required.This is not a deposit, but only a hold on the funds.Ace Telecom maintains the right to charge and reauthorize your credit card each time your account balance reaches the authorization amount.
Is there a minimum usage required?
No minimum usage is required with our rental plan.

Delivery & Return
Do you offer expedite shipping?
Rush orders are always welcomed. We can overnight your rental cell phone.
When can I receive my rental phone?
We can deliver your cell phone 2 - 3 days before your departure date.
When can I receive my rental SIM card?
We can deliver your cell phone 2 - 3 days before your departure date.
Where can you ship the equipment?
We can deliver your equipment to your home, office or hotel. We do not ship to international destinations.
How do I return the rental phone?
Please ship the rental cell phone back to our office within three days of your return trip. You can use any shipping courier (FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL) method that you prefer at your own expense. You are not required to overnight the rental cell phone back to our office. You can ship via regular mail or any ground service. You can also use the same box that the rental cell phone came with.Â
When renting the World Cell Phone, does shipping transit time (too and from) apply to the billing?
No, we only consider the actual travel dates in the billing. Shipping transit time is not considered.

Insurance (Cell Phone Rentals only)
What type of insurance do you offer?
We offer theft protection insurance to our customers. Theft Protection Coverage Is Available At The Rate of U.S. $0.49 per day. (A deductible of U.S. $99.00 will be applied). Phone replacement value at $149.00. Insurance only covers cost of equipment. Does not cover airtime incoming and outgoing call charges. Insurance is only for cell phone rentals, not for SIM card rentals.
Am I forced to take the insurance?
No, insurance is optional.
