What is GSM?
GSM is a digital standard first offered commercially in 1991 and is currently the most popular mobile phone transmission technology in the world. One of the great benefits of a GSM phone is the addition of a SIM card, or "Subscriber Identification Module." This little chip slips into the back of GSM phones and provides all of the users’ personal information. This includes contacts and calendar information in most cases, and more importantly the subscriber’s personal identification information. Having this information on removable chip enables a GSM phone user to move a SIM card between mobile phones and still receive voice calls to the same number. It also prevents user from having to re-input personal information each time a new phone is purchased.
What is a SIM Card?
A SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card is the heart of the GSM cell phone. It is a small chip, like the size of a dime. It is located behind the battery of most popular phones. See below “How to install a SIM card?” question. It carries vital information such as the phone number, the carrier that supplies it and accordingly the rates you will pay when placing or in some cases when receiving phone calls. It also carries the user's identity for gaining access the network and receiving calls and also stores personal information, such as phone directory and received SMS messages.

What is a GSM cellular phone?
A GSM cellular phone is a type of mobile phone that uses the (Global System for Mobile Communications) to send and receive phone calls. There are dual band, tri-Band & Quad Band GSM cellular phones.
Does a GSM phone require a SIM card?
Yes, the SIM card will not work without it. All of our rental cell phone have a roaming SIM card.

What is a Tri- Band phone?
A Tri-band GSM phone operates on the three internationally designated GSM frequencies- 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. The capability to seamlessly handover between the three bands offers operators major capacity gains.
What is a Quad- Band phone?
A Quad-band GSM phone operates on the four internationally designated GSM frequencies- 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. The capability to seamlessly handover between the four bands offers operators major capacity gains. The 850 frequency is used in North America, Latin America and parts of the Caribbean.
Do you offer world wide GSM roaming?
Our World Phone Rental program offers roaming service in over 170 countries.
What is GSM roaming?
The ability to make and receive calls on the same GSM cellular phone when traveling outside the area of the home network operator.
Do I need to program the phone?
Programming is not required. Your phone will automatically search and register with the local carrier in each country.
Do I need to install the SIM card?
Your SIM card is already installed in your rental cellular phone. The SIM card is activated and ready to go!
Will I need to refill or reload the SIM card with airtime?
No, this is not a prepaid service. You can talk as much as you want.
Do you offer voicemail retrieval service?
Yes, we offer voicemail access.
Can I place and receive calls when I arrive at my travel location?
Yes, you will be able to place and receive calls immediately.
Do you offer roaming sevice in Japan and Korea?
Yes, you will receive a compatible 3G compatible cell phone. These two countries operate on a 3G network. This rental program offers one phone that will work in both countries. The same phone will also work in over 170 countries. There is no need to purchase or rent another phone while traveling to multiple countries.
Delivery & Return
Do you offer expedite shipping?
Rush orders are always welcomed. We can overnight the equipment. Saturday
deliveries are also available.
When can I receive my rental phone?
We can deliver your cell phone 2 days before your departure date. Specify
this date on the reservation form.
Where can you ship the equipment?
We can deliver your equipment to your home, office or hotel. We do not ship
to locations outside the
United States
.
How do I return the rental phone?
We will provide you with a return FedEx ground form. You also have the option
to use any other courier at your own expense. There is no need to expedite
the equipment. You can ship via regular mail or ground service. Any box will
do or you can use the same box the equipment came with.
When renting the World Cell Phone, does shipping transit time (too and
from) apply to the billing?
No, We only consider the actual travel dates in the billing. Shipping transit
time is not considered.
What type of delivery service do you offer?
We offer Federal Express service.

How can I place an order?
Our website online ordering interface is completely secure and protected
against fraud and identity theft, to offer customers a safe and comfortable
ordering process. We also offer a fax reservation form. Print a copy of the
fax order form. Once you have completed and signed the agreement, fax it to
our office at 832-934-0335.
When should I place my order?
Order whenever you want, and have the cellular phone shipped the same
day! We can accept orders anytime, 24 hours a day and seven days a
week.
Will someone contact me when I place my order?
An Ace Telecom representative will confirm your order or reservation via
email.

What type of payment do you accept?
We accept most major credit cards.

We accept VISA, Master Card, Discover and American Express
Do you offer itemized billing on phone rentals with airtime?
Yes, this service is optional.
Do you charge for itemized billing?
No, we do not charge for itemized billing.
If I rent a phone with airtime, when does the billing begin?
We only consider the actual travel dates in the billing. When completing the
order form. You will need to specify these dates.
Do you have any hidden charges in your billing?
No hidden fees and no activation fees. All of our airtime rates included
taxes, surcharges, roaming fees, long distance and toll charges. We guarantee
no hidden cost!
If I rent a phone, how much will you hold on my credit card?
An authorization in the amount of $200.00 is required on each cellular phone
rented. This is not a deposit, but only a hold on the funds. We will also charge and reauthorize your
credit card each time your account balance reaches the authorization
amount.
Insurance (Rentals only)
What type of insurance do you offer?
We offer theft protection insurance to our customers. Insurance only covers
cost of equipment. The insurance does not cover lost equipment, nor does it
cover any incoming and outgoing airtime call charges. Insurance cost will
vary on the type of phone you rent.
Am I forced to take the insurance?
No, insurance is optional.
